The Journey

In December of 2018, I found out news that would change my life forever. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and had no idea what my body and I was about to endure. I underwent surgery January 7,2019 right before my 29th birthday to remove one of the tumors. My case was then transferred to Memorial Sloan Kettering in order for me to receive the best care. They studied my tests and lab results and I was then diagnosed with Stage 3 testicular cancer and learned the cancer spread throughout my abdominal area and into my lungs as well. From February 2019 to May 2019 I was receiving 4 aggressive chemotherapy rounds in order to shrink the tumors and cancer cells. I went into surgery in May 2019 to remove those tumors and to find any live cancer to determine if I will need more chemotherapy. My whole diagnosis has been very eye opening and has changed not only my life but my family as well. It is important to always listen to your body when you feel something is wrong.

There is nothing that can prepare you for the words, "You have cancer." In July 2020, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. At the time I had no idea what kind of journey I would encounter. After two surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy, I have a whole new perspective on life. Never take good health for granted. Listen to your body and treat it well. Through this experience, I gained an even greater appreciation for what is important- your health, family, and friends. I also learned that your mind is a powerful tool. Today, I am a stronger person.

KFIT,
In my 25 years of living, I never thought choosing between an emergency surgery or a trip to Mexico would be one of the most important decisions within my life. August of 2015, my world changed, I was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer in my left lung. After a lung removal and 12 months of intense chemotherapy, I’m here to tell you all that mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness. Those were the darkest times of my life. I really developed a deeper appreciation for self-reflection and truly understanding the power of the mind. Always Remember, THE ONLY LIMIT IS YOU.

Sincerely,
